Moved to Gold Coast in 1974. 1985 purchased a Regent Taxi in 1985. Sold it in 2005. Met many lovely people. Learnt such a lot from listening and spending time to ask questions. If you google a lady called Ivy Alcott – Fernleigh Zoo Caringbah or Dolans Bay. She mentored me from the age of 13 years old and was a big part of my life till her passing. I learnt how to be a volunteer at a very young age, and also how to let people know they are never alone. Aunty Ivy had a wicked sense of humour. Spreading joy where ever she went. All about giving. I started as a volunteer here at 4crb doing Radiothon around 18 years ago. Put my hand up when Hilton and Dulcie approached me at a afternoon tea I attended. Never regretted a second of my journey. I did spend many Sunday evenings with friends who were in the Tim McNamara show at 2GB in Sydney. My love for Radio was born. Being part of the 4crb family is a real blessing. Staff and volunteers work side by side to do the best we can offer as a team. As for you our listeners, Our extended family. Their feedback and encouragement make it all worth while.
